Where are Great White shark incidents occurring in California?

Great White sharks account for 100% of the recorded incidents in Del Norte, California’s northern-most county. Meanwhile in San Diego, they account only for roughly 28% of recorded incidents.

This information further reinforces why the northern part of the state, including the Red Triangle, carries the reputation of being such a dangerous place to be in the water.

It’s fascinating to see the presence of great whites increase almost proportionately when traveling from south to north in the state.
