How does the shark attack fatality rate in California compare to other high risk places in the world?

Zooming out and comparing California with other high- risk places in the world we see that Australia and South Africa once again have more cause for concern

It’s also interesting to note that while Florida has so many more encounters than California, the fatality rate is much lower. Rejoice, Florida surfers!!
